The Origins of Vittoria Coffee

The story of Vittoria Coffee begins in 1947, in post-war Australia, when brothers Orazio and Carmelo Cantarella began importing premium European foods to a country only beginning to discover the flavours of the Mediterranean.

In 1958, Vittoria Coffee roasted its very first blend in Sydney, becoming Australia's first locally roasted Italian-style coffee brand. What began as a family operation supplying cafés and restaurants soon grew into a national favourite.

What makes Vittoria Coffee unique is its deep connection to tradition. Even as the Australian coffee scene has evolved into one of the most sophisticated in the world, Vittoria's blends still pay homage to classic Italian espresso—dark, full-bodied, smooth, and luxurious.

Vittoria uses 100% Arabica beans, carefully sourced from the world's top growing regions, including Colombia, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Central America. These beans are then slow-roasted using traditional Italian methods that bring out the natural oils, depth, and character of each origin.

In 2018, Vittoria became the first Australian coffee company to launch a fully biodegradable and compostable coffee capsule, compatible with Nespresso® machines.
